Same number that has called us and the same recording about credit card problems. Knew it was a scam since my husband and I paid our cards off a couple of years ago and have NEVER used them since! The problem too, is that when you press the number so that you can speak to a live operator (so to speak) then ask them to remove you from their calling list, they hang up before you can even get the words out! Slimy! By the way, I searched and it is a cell phone in Pocatello, ID!
I thought this was a legit call from my credit card co. An automated voice said, "eligible for lower interest rate.....press 1", then a woman picked up and said "hello did you press 1 for a lower interest rate?" I said ya and she hung up. I know better than this! I can't believe I fell for it. Now I can't WAIT to see what kink of unwanted crap I will be charged for. I'm sure I will be disputing charges for months. This sucks.
I just got the same call. when I pressed 1 to speak to someone the first thing I asked was "how did you get my unlisted private number and on a do not call list" with that the southerner who answered hung up on me. when I called the number back it was busy. the only thing I can think of that prompted this call was that I just recently signed up for a membership at REI and they asked for my phone number. dont know if there is any connection but im a bit agitated about the call. I hate F'n solicitors. another thing i did recently was call netgear tech support so one of those [***] sold my number! and im going to get to the bottom of it!
The same thing happened to me. Someone called claiming to be from Credit Card Services and could help me lower my interest rate on my credit cards. He asked how much Credit Card debt I have and I asked what credit card company are you calling from? He responded "we're calling for all of visa and master card services". He then asked again how much credit card debt I have and I responded, "500.00" at that point he hung up on me.
They call to lower your credit card rates, when I pressed #1 and asked themto remove me from thier calling list, they hung up on me. This is like the tenth time they called, and it is always the same, they hang up on me, never removing me from their list. It is my cell phone that they are calling!!!!
