IRS with an arrest warrant against me asking me to go to a specific location to make a payment. This is a SCAM!!!!! Don't fall for it people. If there's any doubt about your tax return status after receiving this call, call the IRS directly.
SCAM!! Got a call from a woman with a very heavy (I think Indian) accent. Later spoke with a man who I could barely understand his English. They are supposedly from the Crime Investigation division of the IRS. They say the IRS has been trying to reach me for the last three months to deliver me signature-requested letters and because I was never home, the IRS took it as me evading taxes and there was a warrant out for my arrest. They would give me specific instructions on how to "clear the balance" (pay what I owed) so that I wouldn't get arrested. They tried to get $1,800 from me. As soon as I mentioned I would contact my accountant who had contacts inside the IRS to help me out with this matter, the woman hung up the phone. I called several times and when they finally answered, I asked if it would be ok for my accountant to help me with this and they hung up again. THIS PHONE NUMBER BELONGS TO SCAMMERS. DON'T FALL FOR IT. If you have any doubts about your income taxes status, call the IRS directly at their official phone number. DO NOT ACCEPT TO MAKE ANY PAYMENTS BY PHONE OR AT A LOCATION. THIS IS A SCAM.
