This is what makes scams transparent. If you take 15 seconds or less, & think about it, they usually make no sense. A good con relies on fear, greed & time. The faster a scammer can get you to act, without thinking, the better. Whatever someone on the phone tells you, you cannot believe anything from a call you did not make.
Received calls from 209-458-2705 on consecutive days. Told me that they were Computer Technical Services and that they were receiving error messages from my computer. I asked if they were Microsoft. Initially said yes then stated they were Microsoft authorized dealer. I told him that I did not own a computer. He responded that I was lying and to not waste his time! I told him that to not waste anymore of his time they shouldn't call back!
Got a call from them today saying my computer has errors. I asked him which computer, I have more than one. (I knew it was a scam). He said the Dell. I don't have a Dell. I told him where to go and what he could do to himself. He stammered a few seconds then hung up.
Got three calls from this number today. The first two times they said they were receiving errors from the computer. The third time they said they had hacked our back account. The man then told me in very broken English that I was another "poor American." After I told him that I was contacting the FBI, he hung up. FBI has been contacted and I have blocked this number.
