This number (209) 669-7807 has called me several times this week. The guy that called me knew my name Complete Legal name, had part of my address correct, and part of my email address correct. the number of my address was wrong, and they had radcliff.com instead of yahoo.com for my email.
Claiming to be an internet loan company called I think he said US Loans.
He said I had applied for a loan for $1,500.00 and I had been approved for the loan. Then gave me information on how long I had to pay it off and what the payment would be.
First off, I never applied for a loan. I would never use an internet loan company, I don't trust using them. Second, I have told him several times I did not apply for a loan, and I do not want one.
But he keeps calling me back.
Oh another thing, he spoke with a middle eastern accent. Made it hard to understand what he was saying a times.
I used Spokeo.com to look up what information I could find on this number, this is what I got:
Location Stevenson, California, USA
With an unknown address. unknown carrier for the phone number, there is no name listed with it.
I talked to a family member and she said I should come here to see if anyone else has received calls from this number, and I seen one. My next step is I will be reporting it to the National Do Not Call List.
I know this guy is nothing but a scam... Just really scary when he has some of my information correct.
Someone from this number keeps calling me wanting my information. What I am not that OLD.
They ask if my address was. I said I have moved and was nice to give them my new address . The police office in the City.
And I told them this number was getting turned off next week and my new number was ( again the Police office in the City) .
I wanted to be nice so they can call and send me new information.
I pray they try my try my new phone number. The police want to hear from them.
pay day loan scammers. call me at least 3x a day every other day. I just saved the number under "spam" in my address book and set the calls to always go to voicemail - they never leave a message. Now I can ignore them without even knowing they called :)
When I reported all these to the Attorney General office - the representative said for me to never acknowledge I am the person they are calling. Just say "no one here by that name" or similar for any unknown number. If it's legit let it go to voicemail and the legit company will leave a message.
Adding to the DNC lists wont work, they "phish" the numbers to random ones often and once they have/confirm your name and number - they share it to their hundreds of other scammer friends all using different scripts and tactics to get your personal information.
If you confirm you are who they ask for, be prepared to be haunted on and off for years.
It is ILLEGAL in the US to require anyone to pay any kind of fee, tax or payment before you get a loan! These people are scammers - do NOT send any money for a "security deposit" - you will not get a loan from them, and you will also be out the amount they asked you to send.
