"Holly" left a message, saying "this was the number I was given for ______. Please call back." The name is my brother's name, he doesn't live w. me. Last 4 digits are 3664. Spouse listened to the message w. me. We agreed is stinked of scam. Hit delete.
Someone by the name of "Stacey' called from DSC, Inc. They call everywhere including numbers on the Do not call list. They even called cousins of mine that I have not seen in 10 years asking for my address, and phone number. They call on weekends. Apparently I have heard they are a collection agency which may be working for various states agencies. They are being a pain the **s. I refuse to call them. I know that I owe nothing to no one and if I did, would they not have my direct contact number? Of course they would. Some collection companies buy outdated lists from other collection agencies and the will try to milk the dead cow for money one more time since they bought the list.Sometimes they even claim you owe money on a claim you've already paid years ago. So be careful.
Got a call from Stacey saying I owe $2,000 plus %60 interest on Virginia State taxes from 1998. I was an active duty service member, resident of california stationed in Virginia. As a residential California active duty service member living outside the state of california I don't have to pay state taxes. They use your social as an account number( I didn't give it to them). IT'S A SCAM!!!!
I have been calling them back just to hassle them.
