This number has called my home several times without leaving a message. Not sure what it is about. I refuse to call them back. Next time, I may just hit fax accept, and maybe they will stop calling me. As one other person reported, it is ILLEGAL for them to contact anyone except you if it is regarding a debt. According to the fair debt practices, they are not allowed to contact anyone but you. I didn't get any information on the caller id except for the phone number. Hope that this helps someone!
a man called and left me a message that is was urgent that i call them.
but didnt give any other info. of course i found out that its a collection agency collecting for some money on owe on a repossesed car.
i told them i lost my job, my home ,everything. he said well borrow the money. i told him he could come get it from me.or better yet give me his home tel# and address so we can talk in private about it. he hung up. the economy is terrible. people are losing it all, these people have no heart and are ruthless.
Caller ID said 'Operations Div'.
Woman asked my husband if he was related to "Mary" with our last name, in another city. He said no, since we have no relatives in that city.
This is the 3rd set of Debt scam artists that have been calling us for about 6 or 8 weeks. I think one trys then they sell your name to another one and they try.
I've been reading about these bottom feeders and one goal I think they have is to get you to say "yes" on the phone. My advice is never to answer the phone to them. The first 2 the caller ID said Toll Free Call, and they would leave the message to call an 866#.
Received a call from this number as well. They are "GC Services" and said they collect information for various companies but cannot disclose the names of their clients due to federal law. Even after I said who I was and that he just called me he would not tell me why he called... instead he asked me the same two questions and then said wrong number. Oddly enough the same guy who called me answered the number when I called it back 5 minutes later but claimed he had no record of the call. He knew my first and last name, asked me to verify I lived on a street I had never heard of and then asked me if these were the correct last 4 digits of my social. Those numbers were also incorrect and when I informed him of that he said he must have the wrong number and disconnected the call. I'd say don't cooperate with this caller - don't give them any info.
I can't imagine they are a debt collector, I have no outstanding debts.
