Received a call today saying a lawsuit has been filed in my name and I need to contact Kelly Smith urgently or else legal action will be taken. As stated by others, it's not the IRS mode of operation to make a first contact via phone. SCAM.
I got called twice today from this number by an Indian-accented male who said he was from the IRS and that there were 4 lawsuits filed against me and that a warrant for my arrest was about to be released. I called the IRS fraud service and filed a report. They were very nice and told me that if I chose to speak with this man to tell him that I'm aware of my rights and without validation by mail I have nothing further to say to them.
received a call from 210-390-9798 today 1-20-15,tried to contact the irs but no live person,voice mail box was full......the number i called was 1-800-366-4484....................
