Like everyone else I got the exact same "this is Kelly Smith (in a very thick Indian accent) form IRS…blah blah…lawsuit in my name..blah…blah…" Called 8x yesterday. Definitely a SCAM. This number (210-390-9798) is disconnected as of this writing and here is why: I googled "equivalent of IRS in India." Their agency is also called IRS (Indian Revenue Service) and the chairman's name is Mr Kaushal Srivastava. I then proceeded to call "Kelly Smith" and, with no attempt to sound Indian, told her that I was Mr Srivastava with the Indian Revenue Service. I explained to Ms Smith that a lawsuit had been filed in her name but if she would pay the fines right now I would not have her arrested. She hung up. I proceeded to call her 20 more times leaving voicemails until her box filled up. Then I called 25-30 more times in an hour. An hour later I called again and got a message stating that the Magic Jack number I had called was no longer assigned to a customer!
New number for IRS scam 220-880-4961 just received 2 calls today 9/11 automated call from IRS, stating the IRS is filing a law suit against me and should call this number. SCAM
Unwanted call from recording supposedly IRS...210-390-4930. IRS always communicates in written form. They're not going to call with an automated message. Complete B.S.
