You are wrong. There are MANY OTHER insulin pp providers. Al if which wouldn't exist if it weren't for the minimed technology. They are THE FIRST and best pump out there. The customer service is better than average but WHERE do you get great customer service? My dentist and veterinarian, small business owners. Don't [***] without reason. Minimed doesn't have to kiss your [***] for your business. Quit bitching and switch pumps. Frank
Well, I do hope that insulin injections and the need for a pump will be a 'thing of the past,' but I think a lot of this is BS. I have been on a minimed pump for 15 years and it has made all the difference, especially with the advent of the new continuous blood glucose monitoring system. I am very blessed to have access to this system as I no longer have to worry about hypoglycemic conditions that have been life-threatening at times in the past. Of course, it is not a perfect system or a perfect company, but give me a break - it is the best thing out there. That is why I've had friends from other countries approach me to get the minimed products for them here in the U.S.
First of all, the American diabetes association is PRO diabetes, meaning they DO NOT WANT A CURE!!, they profit from you being diabetic and make millions $$. Second, besides of all the bad reactions like you described above, those plastic infusion sets contain CARCINOGENS (BPA) that will leach right into your system everytime you attached one of those pieces of plastic in your skin (not to mention the other skin reactions and bruising). Anyway, they make it sound like it's really cool being diabetic, but guess what, it aint!! I stopped using these overpriced pumps and their ridiculously expensive carcinogenic supplies a couple of years ago and have not regretted one bit. My Ha1C even improved. Just wanted to say that with good nutrition, exercises and good stress management techniques applied in your life, you can control your blood sugars the cheap way. Besides, I got really sick of walking around with that plastic tube attached to my abdomen, got even sicker when the doctor (bought and paid for minimed) suggested me to attached another tube for the continuous blood sugar monitoring, and that's when I got up the chair and walked away from his office. Hope my statement here spark a flame in someone's mind.
Yes Medtronic Min-Mini Med. I called back and got hold of them. They are not sure why they called but they told me on the phone my Pump Supplies where shipping so I am assuming thats why they called.
