I answered the phone and said hello twice, but no one was there. Some companies do this to see if the number is good and if anyone will respond, time they are home, etc.
You are correct, it was the FOP wanting a donation. I told the guy that I already gave to charitable organizations of my choice and wasn't interested. That's when the sales tactics switched into high gear and he started talking twice as fast telling me why I should give to his organization. I just said "Well good luck with that" and hung up. Call blocked now....
