This is a scam. Most likely the company purchased a debt form a company and they are using illegal collections tactics to try and make money. They will tell you the need to "be sure I am speaking with the responsible party" and ask for verification of the last 4 of SSN. They will probably proceed to tell you that you breached a contract, "breach and fraud in the inducement of a contract" and now to make it right and avoid any "further action" you will have to make a payment. If it is a collection agency they must read you the mini-miranda and if it is about a debt then there will be no "claim" against you. These companies are all over, don't pay them anything.

They keep calling asking for a Jamie Crosby, they said they will take my name off of the DNC list, but they keep calling me, they called me 2x today and there calls keep coming, need help
