I was called from this number and when i answered, it was an automated system that asked me to verify if i was actually me. i did, and was transferred to a live human, who told me i was being sued for "Attempt To Defraud A Financial Institution" to the tune of $6500. i was shocked, i have done everything in my power to clean up my teenage credit mistakes and take pride in not having any bad debt. i asked for information about the company suing me: who was the original creditor? what was the original debt amount? who are the collection agencies i've allegedly talked to? ummm...ummm...ummm.....please hold. then i'm given to "Inspector Ohara" who tells me that i'm being sued now to the tune of $7100, and when this goes to court i can expect an additional $1300-$1500 in attorney fees and court costs. i ask again, who are you with? what company do you represent? who is the original creditor? she repeatedly refuses to identify herself or give me any information about the lawsuit because she "is paid a GENEROUS salary to give me the courtesy of settling this lawsuit out of court, this has already been thru collections (and she has numerous tapes of me being rude to the collection agencies who tried to settle this before the lawsuit) and we have full legal rights to sue you for the full and entire amount owed, including penalties late charges and finance fees." i again ask for the information which i am refused. she then tells me that she doesn't have time to haggle with me, she has to be in court in 4 minutes, but she just so happens to be sitting with the prosecutor for my case. she puts me on hold, and i am given an offer to settle out of court for $2054 TODAY. i tell her no. she puts me on hold again, and comes back with ANOTHER payment plan offer: $300 today, $800 in a week, $300 the week after, and $800 the week after that. now i'm starting to smell fish, and it stinks. i tell her that unless she can prove to me that i do indeed owe this debt, she's not getting a penny from me. so she gets rude and tells me that i should be expecting to be served at "wherever you spend the majority of your day" for this case which she is filing the affidavit with the magistrate today. i tell her that i'm waiting with baited breath and thanks for being completely useless. i then pull up all 3 of my credit reports, and NONE of them mention 1st US Bank anywhere on anything. so i google the phone number that she called me from and i get nothing but reports of spam. so i called her back and told her i know she's full of baloney, and she IMMEDIATELY goes on the defensive; I AM WHO I SAY I AM IF YOU CALL ME BACK I WILL SUE YOU FOR HARASSMENT!!!! i replied, i'll wait with baited breath for BOTH those summons. BEWARE SCAMMERS!!!!!
