Caller ID said "Nationwide" which is our insurance company, so I initially assumed it was legitimate.
Woman on line wanted to know the mileage of my vehicle because our coverage was about to expire, which I thought was strange.
So I told her that I would call my local insurance agent and she said "I AM your local insurance agent".
After a little bit more of back and forth where she was very aggressive, I ended up hanging up on her and I called my local office. They confirmed that the call wasn't from Nationwide Insurance.
It's a scam, like people in previous posts have said, they're trying to sell extended vehicle warranties, which probably aren't worth the paper they're printed on.
I get calls from these folks at Nationwide 210-996-2005 at least once per week. I have repeatedly requested that they stop calling me as I do not even own the car that they are calling about...some warranty pitch.
This number 1-210-996-2005 is no how associated with Nationwide insurance the fortune 500 company. It's associated with a website called www.nationwideautomotive.us They have a contact number on the website listed as 877-411-2447. I just experienced this call myself.
It's a telemarketer for extended auto warranties. I spoke to them & reminded them I was on "Do Not Call" & will file a complaint... They hung up on me. I have my phone provider block the number.
