>> supposed to be on the april l no call list. doesnt seem to work anymore. <<
Yet another poster who signed up for a govt freebie, but was unable to understand what it really does, or why it was instituted. The Do Not Call Registry works well. It is your understanding of it that is faulty.

Fact: The National Do Not Call list is NOT a call blocker!
The DNC list is a LIST, subscribed to / purchased by legitimate telemarketers, so they know who not to call. The FCC or FTC do not give or sell the list to unqualified recipients! Click "Tip" for a tip.
TipThink about this, if you have signed up for the Do Not Call Registry:
The Registry effectively stops (almost) all calls from law-abiding, legitimate telemarketers. If you received a call from a "telemarketer", what does that tell you?Extra credit question:
Does ANY law stop criminals from practicing their "trade"?
Fact: Telephone numbers on the Registry don’t expire. You do NOT have to re-register annually.
Fact: Scammers and spammers ignore the DNC list .
Many use "war dialers" to quickly dial phone numbers. After all, phone numbers are just numbers, and are no secret! (Arabic numbers were invented about 500 AD, so even stupid scammers know about them by now).
Fact: The DNC list does not apply to NON-sales calls , such as political calls, charities, surveys, debt collectors and businesses with which you have done business with during the previous 18 months.
Fact: Spam callers can be blocked by getting a real call blocker .
Google (or your favorite search engine) is your friend.

... Thank you, said more succinctly, and with more detail, than I do. Can only hope folks read what you've said. This website is a darn site more helpful than that governmental agency ever will be, for self-protection.
As you can probably surmise, by the name, I too am weary of my phone being used by criminals in an attempt to empty my bank account in the least amount of time possible. I have also educated myself as to the purpose and function of the DNC list, both State and Nationwide, and how to make it work for me instead of against me; as well as my responsibilities in its function.
I also try to educate others who seem to misunderstand how it's designed to function, and other such similar issues. I am always using established facts, not heresay or rumor, or Internet "glurge" in order to make my point. I'm happy to see that you seem to do likewise.
I may quote you sometime, with your name attached of course, and with your permission!
DNC isn't a call blocking service. And once you are listed, it's forever unless you remove yourself from it. If unsure, call DNC to see if you are still listed, you probably still are. So sayng you're in the Alril list doesn't make sense... you're either on the list or not. It's not time-sensitive, no expiration date. You don't think it's working because you assume DNC is supposed to block scam calls. That isn't their job. I believe that ignoring these calls, as you do, is the right thing to do. It does seem to reduce their frequency and number, in my experience. And ignoring is free. They'll never entirely disappear, but ignoring seems to reduce them, for me.
