Called my cell phone from somewhere in New York. Claimed to be "from the doctor's office" saying that "the billing issue has been resolved." He could not identify the doctor, the town, or the bill. Since I have no "billing issue" at any doctor's office, it was obviously some kind of scam. I hung up and blocked the number.
They called the office this afternoon, and stated that they needed to confirm secondary insurance for a patient. I asked for the patient's last name. We didn't have a record of that patient. She then asked if we could look it up by telephone number. I stated to the woman that we don't have every hospital patient's phone numbers, but....we would have their last name if we had the patient. She then asked to speak to the doctor on the matter. No.....random person that sounds super sus is not getting to my doctor. She was finally ok with leaving a message. The call even showed up on caller ID as "Fraudulent call". Her call back number was the one I put in to get here, but the origin number was 856-211-2945
