I received a call from this number.  It is not a number familiar to me.  It is a scam.

Take your pic scam...Med Alert, Gift Card scam, Cruise Scam, Card Service Scam...all come from the 212

I've gotten all of the above scam calls as well, on my landline. I'm tempted to disconnect it. Basically, I'm paying the phone company so I can be constantly harassed.

called while I was gone, left no message.  Same area and prefix (212-466-. . . .) as a bunch of other "Alert" calls so I'd guess that's what it is.
