John - Same as Andy : I think if you truly read what people are saying you will see that these cold callers are IN FACT rude. If they were NOT rude they WOULD LEAVE their info to follow up on -however these RUDE callers just hang up on you mid - sentence! As soon as you say "No they aren't - may I take a message" by the time you get to "aren't" you have been RUDELY hung up on. They wouldn't even let you get part way throught your >> "thank you for calling me but ***RUDELY HUNG UP ON BY NOW** I am happy with my current adviser" and if your not then ask them for some information - who knows maybe they can help you.<< I AM SURE NOW this IS what you BOth do for a living. if you ARE JUST DOING YOUR JOB AND TRYING TO GAIN ACCOUNTS - don't RUDELY HANG UP on people. YOU try smiling and at least sat THANK YOU before hanging up on people.
~Not angry at all! :o) just tired of people wasting my time (and theirs) by RUDELY hanging up.
these cold callers from brokerage houses are rude, unprofessional and just out right nasty. Yup, let me open my wallet and give them money to invest....
I myself am a cold caller and only call clients to send info, I dont try to sell securities, mainly because I dont have my 7 yet, its unfair to call us all unprofessional just because a few guys are rude, I am always polite to secretarys, even when they act like they are gods gift meanwhile most brokers calling make their yearly salary monthly. I get alot of people to follow up with my senior brokers mainly because I know what im talking about and i am stern while polite.
Who do you work for there? Mike Wagner? Matt Gates? Believe me, you won't be there in two years. Some last longer than others, but it's a no-win situation for you buddy. Believe me. Excuse me, I should not have said a "no-win" situation. You have a chance. But it is much tinier than they would lead you to believe. Wait until you see how the payment/commission system really works.
I'm glad to hear you're kind to all since they're yearly salary does not define them in any way! The undertone of some of the comments posted here, as well as some of the direct comments, is very surprising to me. It makes me sad to read how people view and treat other people. Seems like maybe money is the root of all evil.
