Alex, with Laidlaw, asked for a long-retired CEO. I wonder why so many people call and ask for people who are not here any longer. Maybe they buy old information? I've been here for 10 years and never took a call from Laidlaw.

Some guy named Alex Bykovsky with Laidlaw said that he had just spoke with my boss (he was in a meeting; highly unlikely) and wanted his voicemail. He gave the callback number as 212-652-5650 ext 8002.
Called and asked for our owner, claiming our number was just on a sheet of paper and if we're affiliated with another company. Trying to dance around when he asks for someone not in the office today. Asked for his cell phone, which I said I couldn't find" and put it through to voicemail. I could hear all types of "boiler room" noise which leads me to believe it's a sales call. A) That's annoying. B) If you can't tell me why you're calling, I'm either going to hang up or I'm putting you through to a voicemail.
I'm receptionist here. Guy asked for owner; said "they" weren't here. Said "Gee, I forgot the cell number he gave me the other day, can I have it again?" Yea right!!! he hung up when I said I don't have it.
