I got a call this am , answered it. Said it was From windows nd my computer was downlaoding files. Complete scam. He sounded East Indian and when I asked why it said the call was from the United Nations he had no response. He asked me to turn on my computer. When I asked if this was happening on windows system he said yes. When I told him I don't have windows i have a Mac, and asked him to tell me what my name was he hung up. Do not give them any of your info.
caller ID lists this number as UNITED NATIONS...Why would they be calling a poor old country boy like me? 212 area code is from NY, NY...Called the last several days. left no message.
I just received call from this number. ID said United Nations. I didn't answer let machine answer and woman's voice said "Hello?" As if she didn't hear our names and not home please leave message! I didn't answer because I wondered why would United Nations call little ole me in Arm Pit Missouri!
Called me several times during the working hours. I finally picked up to tell UNITED NATIONS not to call me as I am on the do not call list. They told me that they were calling from Microsoft that that for the past two weeks my computer has been downloading virus'. I told them that I work from home and that my computer was a company computer and that my IT dept would call if I was downloading virus. Told me that he was calling from my IT dept. I told him not to call, hung up and blocked his number.
