Called saying there were from the "legal department" but failed to tell me the company name. Said it was a legal matter and the police would be arresting my wife in the morning if she didn't call back. SCAMMERS!!!!! I hate these pieces of [***]!
Got a call at home and tried to call them back and they said that I didn't file my taxes back in 2008 and 2009 right and owe IRS some money and how would I want handle that. They could either put a lien on my house or/and on my bank account or they could order arrest for me which my answer was do whatever you want to do. When I raised my voice they said they could put another 5k fine against me. I googled them after hanging up and got to this page of how all these calls are scam. Yes I agree government should do something about these people and calls because they are very annoying specially in the middle of a busy working day.
Same here, Jordan Miller, heavy accent from the Dept. of Legal affairs, looking for my husband because of legal proceedings against him. he couldn't answer any questions, our attorney was to call "Chris Walker", a legal officer to tell us what the legal action is.
Got a call from a Keith Martin from the US Treasury, Legal Affairs. Said they were at 300 N. Los Angeles, 90012. I called to verify the number and a message from Keith Martin was on the VM. Then they called me back. I told them I wanted more information. Then Chris Walker gave me his badge number- 83511. Needless to say they hung up on me. They all had the same accent... not something I normally hear when talking with any particular company or organization in the US. The real Treasury has a notice about email and phone scams on the website.
Got a call from a Keith Martin...asking to speak to a 'J' (last name). I asked regarding what - 'a legal affair' and cannot disclose any info. I said - you don't even know my husband's name. He gave me the same call back number. Thick accent - I could hear lots of callers in the background. Then he read off our address - that freaked me out. I hung up and then searched - glad to see it is a scam - but still annoyed.
