They left a message on my voicemail saying just "contact us at 213-237-3737". I see from posts above that it is LA Times. I've also been getting e-mail from them recently.
Don't get involved with the LA times or OC Register, we bought one of these newspapers sunday only, and got billed for full weeks, and it was a nightmare to get it corrected, they will send your invoice to collections, for like a total bill of $40.00 or something. their customer service is horrible, and they could care less about fixing the probelm. I have never read their newspapers since, and only read my news online now. No wonder their industry is dying.
I've got two calls from this number for past 3days. I finally asnwered it this morning when I was at school, and the guy (sounded like a non English speaker) told me that I have a bill to pay for LA Times which I think was $39.99. I've already paied all my bills to stop ordering LA Times last month, so I knew that he was lying. When I told him that I'm already done with LA Times, he claimed many times that he is not a "money-taker." But he still continued asking for my credit numbers and some other personal information.
He hanged up after all, because I was keep telling him that I totally could not understand his English. lol
I recommend you all to just ignore the call, or block the number.
I get calls from the same number. I was looking to sign up with the Times and was looking for cheaper dealers. I started to sign up with a company that offered it half price of what the actual Times webpage offered it. I didn't go through with the transaction because it seemed shady. I'm willing to bet it is this "dealer" making these calls - not the actual LA Times.
