Robo call hang-up. Got through when I called back. Scammer 'Tom Smith' with an (India) Indian accent said he was from 'Credit Card Services' and, of course, wanted a credit card number to lower my interest rate. Thought I'd have at least a little fun with him and kept cutting him off to answer my questions. He said the Co. HQ is in Orlando and he was calling from a satellite call center but couldn't/wouldn't supply any info- I'd receive all that via email AFTER I'd supplied him with a Visa or Mastercard number and qualified for a lower interest rate. After having lots of fun asking him inane questions (I admit- he was persistent, but repeated his script a lot) I finally asked about his accent, said he was Spanish. I asked him the Spanish word for 'pork'. He couldn't answer, then he hung up. I just love to bring a little humor into my day and frustration to these thieves.
Thanks to imbeciles like this, my wife may well miss her dad's final call from HIS hospice the way I did my mother a couple years ago - she left a message at least, about a hour before she died. My wife's father is in a hospice somewhere in L.A. so normally I'd answer 213 & 323 area codes. At least we have THIS resource so the "unknown name" (these days caller IDs from hospices are blocked for privacy reasons) will get a callback if they at least leave a message...
