Same as others. Thick Indian accent as others mentioned. I did check out payday loans, but never applied for or received any. This is how they get our names & numbers...then I assume they call and threaten as the other posters have said...thinking a few people might not have paid and would be taken-in by their scam. Dont be fooled. Even if you got a payday loan and didnt pay... this is total BS!
called work, called my cell told me a sherriff would be here at 11:00 on friday to serve and arrest me, wanted to talk to my attoryney. said i owed money from a payday loan that I never had. rude would not talk sounded like it was a phone bank out of India. This is just another scam people are doing and its just going to get worse, I want to know who they are so I can sue them to stop.
I Just received a call on my job from this number. Man with heavy Indian/foreign accent as well, stating he was calling from the Dept of Legal Affairs wanting my attorney name..just as the comment above..said there is a case pending against me and my SS# and his attorney was writing it up. I asked for his name, said to call back and ask for Michael Carter. I was like why would I call back and pay for long distance charges when I already have you on the phone. I said explain to me what this is about? He would not give me any information just said, call back this number, call back this number..said I could contact the attorney on the same number. I told him I worked for an attorneys office and that to hold on the line as I would let him to speak to my attorney and of course, he hung up!!! What idiots!!!
Last week, a company called Cash Today tried, successfully, to deposit 16 cents into my checking account, and then withdrew 8 cents, 5 cents, and 3 cents. If you are reading this and have not checked your bank account, DO SO NOW. This company will eventually take $30 and then $25, and then who knows how much. We closed our bank account immediately after seeing the deposit and withdrawals. This 'man' called me at work this morning and was from the Legal Department. His connection was so crappy I couldn't understand him. I really want to see if he has the balls to call back. He and his company of dog manure will not get to me. They are probably upset that we closed our bank account!! Dog excrement people. They are out of the Philipines, from what I read in a previous thread.
