A voicemail message was left.
The automated voice said: "I need you or retained attorney of records to return the call. The issue at hand is extremely time sensitive. My phone number is 213-289-3862. Do not disregard this message and do return the call. Now if you don't return the call and I don't hear from your attorney either then the only thing I can do is wish you a good luck, as the situation totally unfolds on you. Good bye."
I have no idea what they are talking about -- perhaps it is a debt collector is the only thing I can think of.
Note it was an "automated voice" and it did not identify "who" was calling.
Dialed this number -- 1:27pm same day -- long time to answer.
Person said this is the IRS, how can I help you. I said "really, this is the IRS?" He said this is the IRS. ( sounded like a call center in the background) I said "this is the IRS?" He hung up.
Afterward I googled the phone number.

They called me 3 times. With the same threatening message. I called back and found out it was not legit. They hung up on my 5 times, as I was wanting to know what was their scam. The person on the other line broke down and admitting that he was from Russia and just needed to make money to feed his family. I said stealing from vulnerable people who may not have much money? I told him if he was that desperate I'd send him $50.00 if he would tell me how to send it to just him. He did call me again today and did not leave a message. I have reported them to the police and the FBI and their scam will be over soon. FYI i am not sending any money!
I have received this phone call three times, from two different voice recordings. The one that took place form the above number was received today, April 25, 2016. The same voice was using 213-289-3855 over a week ago. The 2nd voice was about a week ago and the phone number was 253-258-0062. All three had the same message for case number CH76295. The phone number that was called was 903-455-8173. I never returned the call.
Got the call today, ignored it since I don't have the number in my phone, got the same robot voice threatening message, tried calling back and the call won't even initiate
leaves voice message this is the IRS.. call will not even try to ring when I call back, I like wasting these idiots time.. by just acting stupid and playing dumb. hopefully it gives them less time to harass others.
