Just received a call from this number. I immediately checked this site because I never answer calls from numbers that aren't stored in my phone book. Glad to know this is a scam. I'll be blocking this number.
Caller claiming to be from DirecTV. He had a promotional offer of NFL Sunday Ticket free for 2014 if I upgraded to their preimum package. To get started, I was asked to validate the credit card # that was on my account. I promptly hung up. Called back several times, but would not answer.
The caller said I was getting a free upgrade sports package (channels 600s) that I would be only charged if I canceled. I reported this directly to DirecTv and made the complaint with their security. Gave them the name of the person and phone number. Let them know that the Caller ID is showing DirecTv but with the 213-289-5605 number coming up and not the 800 number they have. I recommend everyone do the same. Will be checking my credit closely.
