They just called my parents who were upset since they had just paid the IRS last week on an underpayment. Coincidence that this call came in within a week of my parents dealing with an IRS underpayment that they took care of already.
Robo call with synthesized voice with the following transcribed message: Your final notice from IRS Internal Revenue Service. The reason of this call is to inform you that IRS is filing lawsuit against you. To get more information about this case file, please call immediately on our department number 213 300 4131. I repeat 213 300 4131. Thank you. (It was nice of them to add the thank you.)
Its a FRAUD! They say they're the IRS and they're suing you and want you to pay them $ over the phone because there has been an ARREST WARRANT ISSUED IN YOUR NAME. They are a bunch of ASIAN people who can barely speak English but refer to themselves as Officers of the IRS and claim they are located in Washington, D.C(with an L.A#).
PLEASE DON'T FALL FOR IT, IF THEY CONTACT YOU. JUST PLAY ALONG LIKE I DID(but don't use any of your real info cause they don't have any of yours anyway except your cell #) AND TRY TO GET AS MUCH INFORMATION FROM THEM AS POSSIBLE AND THEN REPORT THEM TO YOUR LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENT!
I WORKED FOR A TAX OFFICE FOR 7YRS AND KNOW THAT THE IRS WILL NEVER ASK FOR A PAYMENT OVER THE PHONE AND SAY YOU CAN'T MAIL IN A CHECK, AND NEVER TELL YOU THAT IF YOU DONT PAY YOU ARE GOING TO JAIL. IRS WILL NEVER DO THAT! I PLAYED ALONG UNTIL THE END AND WHEN I STARTED ASKING THE QUESTIONS AND TOLD THEM THEY SCREWED WITH THE WRONG PERSON THEY(2 PPL ON THE LINE) STARTED USING VERY FOUL LANGUAGE AND ACTING LIKE IDIOTS, REAL IRS OFFICERS WOULD NEVER DO THAT. OH AND BTW, OUR CALIFORNIA'S IRS OFFICE IS LOCATED IN "CALIFORNIA"!
