called my husband cell phone (whose number is giving out) said we owe back taxes. I do the taxes so no problems with the IRS. I called back and gave the "case number". he then said he could not pull me up by the case number. Could not give me any information. even if I had claimed any dependents and the sex of dependents if I had any. Started asking questions about 2009 taxes. when I started to state I have had no other communication the supervisor I asked for spoke less english then the original guy. Total SCAM he hung up. Please do not give any funds to these people, this is a cell phone number
Checking my voicemail, I also got a call from this number claiming to be the IRS and stating that this was the final notice, the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me. (date/time stamp Aug 29, 2016 at 9:59 AM (Eastern))
The IRS does not initiate contact via a phone call, they first send postal letters.
The IRS does not threaten arrest.
The IRS does not demand immediate payment over the phone.
The IRS does not ask for Credit card, Debit card, or prepaid money card information, at all.
It is a scam ran by offshore criminals attempting to trick you into sending them money.
