This phone number called my house & left a message for someone that doesn't live here, nor do I know threatening that he was coming to serve some documents to him tomorrow at his work place and bringing the police to his home also for his arrest. I picked up the phone & told him I have his message recorded on my phone & he is to remove my number or I will take this recording and press charges. If I see a call from a number I don't know, I let the answering machine pick up first because I keep getting calls for people I don't know and they keep calling. I am now keeping a record.
Called today, originally from a number that said it was unlisted. Kept asking for email address and verification for one of the people in the office. We said we did not want to speak with him (person was of middle eastern origin) and hung up because he had called a week ago trying to get information. Once we hung up he called OVER 20 more times in the next 10 minutes and would not stop. We put the line on busy, called the phone company and they said they could not get access to the unlisted number and to call the police which we did. I tried to call the ONLY number that did show up 213-327-9999 and it says its not connected. Then the guy called back and started cursing at us, said it was going to F(*& us at midnight?!! Scary crap, don't give them ANY information
Answered this number and Iranian woman acted very sweet and chit chat. Like I knew her. Wanted to know about my computer, last time on it and they are getting a message of a problem. Wanted me to log on. Also that I had paid $100 for something. NO DIDN'T. Told her I was busy with company and she wanted to know the best time to call back. DON'T. This is definitely a scam.
Had numerous calls over the past month about a person who we don't know: We never answer any calls on this line anyway, but all voicemails are transcipted to email. Here is the last transcript. We have passed this to the local Police as it contains a message about coming to our house: I would recommend anyone else does exactly the same.
"Hi this message is only for Riley this is Shana Hopkins. If this is your final notification in regards to the service of your legal documents. I will be making several attempts to serve you at your current residence today between the hours of three and 5:00 PM. If I cannot gain or soon as you're at the location. I will have no choice but to serve you at your current place of employment. If I cannot reach you either of these locations this will be back and ask for-direct-refusal(?) to class. And you will miss your court date. If you have any further questions or concerns the filing party's office directly at 832-220-3628. Once again your case number which is 20686. This is your final notification so plan accordingly."
very much like Pink's comment, he left a voicemail saying he was an independent process server for LA County making what I consider threats regarding legal action. what-the-what! I think I've heard this one awhile back. SCAM.
