Just got a call from 213-333-3206 claiming the whole "your gonna crash your computer" "using microsoft windows" "sending error reports" stuff. Told him it sounded like a scam and ended the call. Looked up the number and well you know the rest if you are reading this.
My mom recieved the same call she is elderly they where in her computer for over 2 hours. She also gave them her SS#. She is contacting the FBI tomorrow she made a police report today! Praying on the elderly! They tried to charge on her charge card but the charge card people stopped it and said it might be a scam! Thank God!
Funny, I got the same call today. Couldn't understand a word the lady was saying so she gave me to a male tech (?) He preceeded to tell me that my computer had sent them error messages and that I needed to take care of it before it shut down. After 5 minutes or so, just before he wanted me to click "Enter" and give them control, (I wanted to see how far they would go) I told him I had to go and take another call. He warned me NOT to get back on the internet (I wonder why). Told him to call back later. Went to Goggle and entered their number and found this site. Short end of the story, he DID call back and I told him that I had their number and that the FBI would be at their door momentarily. Told him I knew they were scanmmers to which he also told me too that I could go to **** and that he also wanted to "F***" my wife. Poor guys must not get any lovin at home.
Got my second call today from this number, with all of the nonsense excuses shown here. The 213 area code is from the LA area, but it very likely is just a redirect from India. I played along this time, "restarting" my computer at least 4 times, finally got a blue screen that really worried me, so he gave me long directions on how to restart my computer. Finally had to give and said I'd go down and start my laptop instead. After 40 min of this fool hanging on the line I finally hung up on him. Might as well waste their time and have some fun along the way.
I got a call from this number too. But when I picked up, I couldn't hear anyone talking over the phone. So I just repeatedly say "hello", and after a seconds, they hung up on me LOL. I searched up the number and found this website. Saved myself from having to deal with a buncha scammers, all thanks to my room having terrible reception x)
