I got a cal from a man from india telling me i have been selected for a free trip and shopping spree. He had a lot of personal information of mine including my checking account routing number and was very agressive to get my account number. it seemed fishy to me so i told him i was not interested. would not take no for an answer so i told him thanks but im not interested. he kept calling and left a message cussing me out and said some perverse stuff. i tried calling back and only got a busy signal.
I got a phone call twice from this number (213) 337-0021 and when I answered the phone... a person with a heavy accent said I inherited a million USD dollars, but I had to let them keep 40% and I would get 50% and 10% would go towards sending me, my percentage. All I had to do is give them my name, number, SS# and bank information to send it to me. Does that sound weird or what? So I went online to try to track this phone number down and as clear as day I found this message board, where everyone else says they receieved a call from the same #.
i get calls from this number all the time. caller id is maximus and when i call back it does not take calls. i just got a call now and the guy talking was asking from someone in my family and i asked who he is and why he is calling and he continued to ask for the person so i said yeah im him (kinda angry at that point) so he hung up. im pissed off right now wish i could do somethng about this.
"Maximus" is more sinister than you might think. It (both male & female voices) has detailed personal info that it drops on people to let them know it's serious. It has accents from E. European thru British, Asian & Latino.
Maximus intercepted a call to me from friends using an old, established land line in London, England. I live on the West side of L.A.
Suggestions:
Do NOT call Maximus back.
Report it to your phone company & demand a report back.
