I have received multiple calls from phone number 213-359-5056 the past few days. I finally transferred the computer-generated voice to voice mail a few minutes ago, and this is the message it recorded (the first part was cut off as it was talking when it was transferred to voice mail): "... Internal Revenue Services. The reason of this call is to inform you that the IRS is filing lawsuit against you. To get more information about this case file, please call immediately on our department number 213-359-5056. I repeat, 213-359-5056. Thank you." The caller ID showed the number stated in the voice mail, 213-359-5056, and Los Angeles, CA. It seemed "phishy" that an organization headquartered in Washington, D.C. would call from Los Angeles and get their organization's name wrong in the message (the S stands for "Service," not "Services," in the real IRS's organization name), so I did a Google search for the phone number and found this site. It’s pretty obvious that they’re using trick # 1 in internet scammers’ handbook – use fear to control and rob whoever believes them, which is usually going to be someone the age of my parents who are retired and need everything they have to survive, or a naive college kid who doesn't think to check it out – so I hope someone can find a way to identify and stop these thieves.
The Criminals on this number should be arrested. The number might change out of the country. Be careful. They said that I am under arrest, my accounts are being seized, drivers license suspended and I need a lawyer to go to court. They give a case #, Officer number and then..... they said I can settle out of court. Thats when I called my police department and accountant on another phone and they said it was a scam to hang up. Very scary when not expected a call like this mid day and it was the first call. Because they say it is the IRS, I thought it was real! How can this be done. Phone # (213) 359-5056 Kevin Williams Christine Martin but they had accents as from outside of the country as the telephone had a delay and the accents seemed to be maybe of indian. Be careful. Very bad and not funny
These people have been calling me all morning, how can I make them stop? ??? It's too much. Please don't believe these scammers, the IRS will never call you, and I'm sure as heck a Michelle smith with an Indian accent won't be calling.
