Got a call from 'Richard Harris' - the same baloney - US Treasury - Legal Enforcement Section - I owed taxes to the IRS - pay up or they will issue an arrest warrant and I would go to jail today. WOW!
My wife received a voicemail on home phone from a person calling himself Steve Martin. He had a thick accent and claimed to be calling me about "an enforcement action by the Department of Treasury." He also claimed this was his second attempt to contact me and failure to call him would result in an appearance before a federal magistrate or a grand jury. My wife called him back, but had the good sense not to give him any information. When I got home I listened to the message and it sounded like a telephone scam to me, so I Goggled the phone number and found several websites reporting the same phone call as a SCAM. I called the guy back to confront him, but he very quickly hung up. So, it sounds like he is using a lot of different names. Reverse Directory says the number is from a landline in Paramount, CA (just south of LA).

Receive call today, 8/27/14, at 2:57 PM in EST. Person with heavily accented English (Indian accent I think) said "...we are trying to help you... with criminal process" or something or other. Definitely used the word "criminal. As someone else reported, the rather long message was repeated 3 times.

I received the same call from this mujibar indian speaking person 4 times. The person left a message saying about he works for department of treasury that i owe money and i should pay this now at this moment or I will go to jail for a year with out any bail. I called and it was an answering machine. He can't even say or speak correctly where he works for. Definitely a scam. I will call the local sheriff/police in LA California and have this guy investigated.
