It appears that I will be arrested at 8:00 a.m. for tax evasion. Somehow we missed the US Agent who came to our house 13 times to serve us with legal papers. I laughed out loud.
I got the exact same message. Daniel Baxter .... blah blah blah... When I listeded to it the second time, I noticed that he initially started to give me a return call # that started with a "2" and then quickly corrected to 818-745-0864. He cannot speak Englist that well, and used incorrect tenses when speaking.
I tried the call the 818-745-0864 # from a phone that I do not have to worry about any hinkiness from, and it is disconnected.
I hate sleazy people!
Got a call from "Jonathon" and he asked for my wife. Said he was from the Department of Legal Affairs, US Treasury. I asked what this was concerning and he said it was confidential and could only discuss with my wife. SCAM!
"Daniel Baxter" from the "Department of Legal Affairs" calling to discuss an "enforcement action" against me. If, for some reason I cannot call him back, I should have my "retainer attorney" call him to avoid a "legal mess". Tops it off with, "Until then, have a blessed day." Hilarious! Have a blessed day! If I hadn't realized it was a scam call before, certainly telling me to "have a blessed day" almost in the same breath as telling me of legal actions against me is quite a big clue and certainly tips his hand. By the way, I've received several calls like this over the past 2 months. Sometimes a woman, sometimes a man. Not totally sure of the accent as they all try VERY hard to conceal it. This is the call back number they leave.
Call from Keith Martin, Dept of Legal Affairs in Los Angeles, CA - same message as above - terrible message and very hard to understand person - but he also said to have a "blessed day".
