Is this your first visit to this site? There are thousands of reports about this scam. They use many different numbers but keep trying to draw in gullible people to get info. There are also the Security System, Medical Alert, Federal Grant, etc. scams. Please don't answer phone and check numbers here before believing any of them If you don't recognize the number and no message is left, just delete.
I received a message yesterday. The caller stated that a tax evasion case has been initiated for me and that I need to call the Treasury Department at (213) 438-9642. Scammers... I have not received any correspondence in the mail from IRS or any other tax agency.
