These guys call me, saying they have information on how to get government grants. Like how to write a proposal, where to send it and a copy of an approved one. She said it was free, so long as I front the money for the shipping and handling of 2.99. I'm pretty sure it's a scam to get my account information, especially since they had my old mailing address.
Um, yeah so they have called my about once an hour for the past 2.5 days. There is no on on the other end. As soon as I call back they are telling me they will give me free money. Forgive me for puking. Can you say "telemarking trash"? When I told them I was hesitant to pursue this call any further and requested the company website and information before I gave my information the lady told me, "well 'mam, you gave us your information... you visited the website... " Like it is my fault I am being harassed by phone calls.
BTW I went to the website and I think it was in one of those 'free deals' that I 'signed up', not from their website. I had as stupid lapse... what can I say?
I asked them to take me off the list twice now. Next time I call back they will really get an earful!
I just got this call at close to 9pm, when I called the person was rude and after I responded 'Do you make it a habit to hang up after you call someone' the person resoponded that this was the central office for government grants and then put on a recording.
I heard from a little birdy that if you put in a request from the telemarketing company regardless of who the represent to be removed from their list completely that you could sue them after a period of time. not sure how true that is so I'm going to research it....just a suggestion
