I just received call from same number saying they had some legal documents and I needed to call this other number. Then asked if it was me and I said yes but then started asking him questions when he hung up. Only if he got was that it was me on phone but I'm assuming I scared him off. I was just concerned if a verbal yes over phone could be used for anything.
Called many times over last few weeks but I never answered as I do not know anybody in Los Angeles. Called today and I finally answered and they asked me if I was familiar with a certain name. Sounds like a collection agency that is trying to find people.

That is illegal! They can not send any personal or legal information to anyone other than the intended party. They can ask for your whereabouts but that is about it! Even mentioning the word "legal documents" is against the law. It is deceitful and a violation of the FDCPA law (google/bing).
