i never ever borrowed from this company...EVER. I truly believe they fish through online applications of other companies i have inquired about in my "desperate" times.
the 1st thing i'd asked was for names phone numbers and addresses. the 1st non-speaking english person who sounded of an indian descent couldnt even pronounce my american name. he had me on hold for 3 mins as i'd patiently awaited another indian speaking man named Mr. Dejesus... how ironic? but i asked for the info... he repeated my SS# which sounded correct but i never confirmed. i'd asked what company was the law office representing, and he stated quick pay day loan. as i've stated...never heard of these people. when i asked what was the date the funds were loaned, he immediately started yelling. i then hung up. i can be professional, but if you are willing to work with me, be courteous and professional, no matter if a customer is yelling and or cursing, which i was neither.
i have learned being in dire straits, that as a consumer, you still have rights. do your homework. if a company is going to bring you through and to litigation and they have all of the information...where is the legal documents that should be sent in the mail? i figure if i am on the east coast, and this company is on the west coast, as theyve claimed... (eventhough the law ofc is out of Georgia) i would like to stand by and see this trick. so go on mr Dejesus... sue me...i have every statement for my acocunts... you have to prove how much and when you've loaned me this imaginary money...all i can do is laugh and hang up...come to your senses people and realize this is one big joke. they gave me a fake address also... 17100 gillette ave of los angeles ca 92614 for a quick pay day loan represented by william scott and associates. if they keep calling me, i will send a few notices to the consumer affairs and contact bbb.
This number calls me all the time and says I got a payday loan and didnt repay it. I havent gotten any payday loans and I'm afraid somehow they are going to debit my account without my knowledge or consent. HELP!
Yes i got a call from this guy as well. I called them back they seem to have alot of information about me except my last four digits of my soc. sec. #. They asked for it and I simply told them that they were a scam and I would not conform to there level of intimidatiom./
I just spoke to Mark Red - "supervisor" of Willam Scott & Associates. Say thing as noted above - very thick accents - threatened me will jail - bank fraud - receiving funds by deceiving - theft by wire and they want $5000 plus dollars for a loan that they say I took out in 2008 and when the payday loan company went to deduct the payment that it had been returned NSF. Well I would have been terrified if I had not gone through the same thing LAST YEAR!!!! Well all my debts are paid. I never had an NSF. And this is a TOTAL SCAM. Last year I did close my bank account, I did put a freeze on my credit bureau acctounts and I did report this to the FTC and the Attorney General of my state. So today I just asked them to provide me with the paperwork - documentation and then I would call them back and speak wit my attorney. I was told to hold my tongue (!!!!!) that I would be served in front of my manager TOMORROW!! I have already called and reported this again.
Same exact thing happened to me-- "Sam Phillips," speaking in a heavy Indian accent or something of the sorts, leaves me a voicemail telling me it's time sensitive I call him back and if not, good luck with my upcoming legal situation. When I called back and asked for Sam Phillips, the person responded, "Uh, who?" and asked for the number I was calling from. Because big [***] fancy law firms don't have caller ID, right? Anyways, I even read he quoted me I owed the same exact amount as somebody else posted on here-- $5,484.87. I asked for what, and he said I took out a payday loan for "around $300" in "2008." He was aggressive and pissed off, and not helpful and wicked vague. He had all my personal information, but couldn't pronounce anything right. He didn't even know what my state abbreviation meant (hillarious). I never actually received a payday loan, but I vaguely remember applying for them but never actually getting one. Had my uncle, a state police officer, run my name for any warrants-- NONE. Felt like puking all day 'cuz they said they were showing up at work and throwing my [***] in jail the next day. Reading this website finally put my mind at ease, about 10 hours later. Thank you everybody.
These guys called my mom today and threatened to have her arrested too. She kept hanging up on them and then they would call right back. I answered the last call and asked if I could take a message and they said,"Jan is old and is going to die". That scared the hell out of me, so I called our local police and they came to our house. My mom does not have any warrants out for her arrest and they said that this is a scam. I hope they do not keep calling, but if they do we will just keep ignoring them.
