i never ever borrowed from this company...EVER. I truly believe they fish through online applications of other companies i have inquired about in my "desperate" times.
the 1st thing i'd asked was for names phone numbers and addresses. the 1st non-speaking english person who sounded of an indian descent couldnt even pronounce my american name. he had me on hold for 3 mins as i'd patiently awaited another indian speaking man named Mr. Dejesus... how ironic? but i asked for the info... he repeated my SS# which sounded correct but i never confirmed. i'd asked what company was the law office representing, and he stated quick pay day loan. as i've stated...never heard of these people. when i asked what was the date the funds were loaned, he immediately started yelling. i then hung up. i can be professional, but if you are willing to work with me, be courteous and professional, no matter if a customer is yelling and or cursing, which i was neither.
i have learned being in dire straits, that as a consumer, you still have rights. do your homework. if a company is going to bring you through and to litigation and they have all of the information...where is the legal documents that should be sent in the mail? i figure if i am on the east coast, and this company is on the west coast, as theyve claimed... (eventhough the law ofc is out of Georgia) i would like to stand by and see this trick. so go on mr Dejesus... sue me...i have every statement for my acocunts... you have to prove how much and when you've loaned me this imaginary money...all i can do is laugh and hang up...come to your senses people and realize this is one big joke. they gave me a fake address also... 17100 gillette ave of los angeles ca 92614 for a quick pay day loan represented by william scott and associates. if they keep calling me, i will send a few notices to the consumer affairs and contact bbb.
Earlier today my boyfriend recieved the same type of call you have all described. We had done online payday loans in the past but had paid them all off. Probably six months ago we recieved the first phone call, arabic accent, from some law firm, and he stated that we owed the money and he would be arrested. He had all of his info, and said that if he paid right then, he could keep him from being arrested. We declined saying we had paid everything, the man was very aggresive, even mad, because we wanted to look into it ourselves. We thought at first maybe there was a loan that we didnt fully pay, etc. We got in contact with the company that the debt was supposedly owed to and they had no record of us, or that we had ever done any business with them. The company apologized to us and we never heard from them again. Well today we got another phone call from the 213-550-4451, and another arabic accent male said pretty much verbatim what the first caller had said but of course this was a different company that we owed money to, and that he would be arrested at his work at 11am the next day. My boyfriend pretty much laughed in his face which really pissed the man off and the man said he was adding more money to the debt for him laughing. Luckily the number showed up on his cell and he gave me the number and the company name that we "owed" money to so I could do some research. That company hadnt done any business in Oregon in more than three years and our loan was maybe a year ago. I was pissed and sick of them doing this because there are people out there like the elderly, etc., who probably do get scared and end up paying so I decided I would call them back. At first it kept going straight to a automated voicemail saying it was an extension and to leave a message, then said that you couldnt leave a message, then said there was an error and then hung up on me. I decided I wasnt giving up and by the fourth call someone answered. He just said "Hello", did not mention a business name like you would if you were calling a normal business and I went off. I told him this was the 2nd time they tried this scam, that I had called the FBI (which I hadnt yet) and it was [***] what they were doing. He kept trying to get my name, birthdate, any info on me that he could and I said there was no way in hell I would give him anything. He then started to threaten me, laughed at me, said stupid Americans, and "long live Americans" really creepy. I said are you even American because we wouldnt do this, and then hung up because I was so upset. I then decided to call the local police and them what he said and the threats he made. The officer said he was sorry about what happened but they cant do anything because they are out of state but not to contact them. He also said that when you do an online loan, almost instantly that info is sold so thats where they get it, and if anything was said or done to us, just call and they would take action. I was just worried because they do have our info and the threats that were given. Since I cant do anything legally Im at least letting you and future people know not to listen or give in to them. Just hang up, there is nothing they can do, but I do agree with another poster by regularly checking your credit report to make sure there is no action on there that you did not do. Good Luck.
This is the second time they called me stating they were goona arrest me and then take me to court.They didn't even say where they were calling me from. I got really scared and printed out all staments that showes nothing ever received from any payday loan people. They even threatened me with calling my employer. So I did my rearch and found out I was not the only one they were calling.
I HAVE BEEN RECEIVING THREATING PHONE CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER 2135504451 THERE TALIKNG ABOUT SOME PAYDAY LOAN I NEVER GOT,MY DAUGHTER ANSWERED THE PHONE ONCE AND SHE SAID SHE WAS VERY SCARED ABOUT WHAT THE GUY TOLD HER,I NEED THIS TO STOP I WILL MAKE A POLICE REPORT AND GIVE THEM THE PHONE NUMBER AND ALSO I HAVE ALL THE MESSAGES BECAUSE THEY HAVE GONE TO FAR.
I just also got a call today from this number. I have the same scenario as all the victims here.
When i asked them to send me a fax or email me some docs to verify they got angry with me and said they will send a team of attorneys and take me to court tomorrow and face the judge. Also they will call my work and tell them what i did so i get fired.
this is an absolute joke!!!!!! never in my life had i heard so obnoxious noise.these people are trying to scam the most innocent people ever.Listen we all work hard for our money and these low lifes are trying to take it away.i am so mad that they would even attempt to take money that is not even theres.well it just goes to show how much the world has changed. So to all the good honest people in the world just hang up on these clowns and remember it takes a low life to scam innocent people.
