What "HoggyDog" said above: Robocall- left message stating "This is the IRS. The reason for this call is to advise you that the IRS has filed a lawsuit against you. To learn more about this lawsuit, call..." and the above number.
I know better than presume this is an actual call from the IRS, and will also, for what it is worth, report this number to my local police department for further investigation.
BTW, this is NOT legitimately a telemarketing call... but you didn't have an option for a "BS" drop down.
Called me and said that there was an urgent IRS matter and to call back. When I did they were very sly and talking fast and said I need to pay back taxes or they were going to arrest me in a few hours. I said fine! I can totally see where an older person could get scared and give the wrong info out. Tell everyone you know especially seniors.
Received a call from this number stating they were the IRS and I owed them money. This is nothing but a scam. How is it this number is allowed to be used when it is known to be a scam. This is the problem. They should be shut down. sounds like a Russian accent on the person that answered the phone. IRS never calls demanding money. They may be crooked, but not that crooked
