This number called today, January 26 saying they need me to get on my computer and fix some errors. I am on the Do not Call List - why and how are these getting my number to call me?
SCAM ALERT!! Search on "Windows Tech Support Scam" or "Microsoft Tech Support Scam" for details. Do not let them gain remote access to your computer or follow any of their directions. Microsoft does not ever initiate tech support calls and does not outsource to anyone to do that for them. They are aware of this scam and have information on their website about it.
They used an autodialer that steps through all numbers in sequence with a reverse callerid lookup app to get your name.
Just received a call from this number. I didn't answer. I have to wonder if it has to do with the fact that I recently got a window phone and had trouble with the window program recognizing it.
