Same thing happened here tonight! My husband contacted a lawyer who sent him to the fraud department. He was told the IRS will very rarely contact you by phone! When I googled the number and came up with the above post, I breathed a sigh of relief! I reported the incident to the IRS number listed above!
Make sure you have your passport ready since you will need to fly to a country overseas. Of course once there if you are caught you are then subject to their laws. As to threatening them, they know it is a hollow threat and they have heard it all.
A SCAM!!!!!! Told me there's an arrest warrant for me from the US Treasury in my name for unpaid taxes. When I told him that I am current on the taxes, he yelled at me and said no I didn't. When I told him I receive a refund every year, thanks to my 4 young deductions, he immediately hung up on me. I assume he wanted me to agree to pay them now and get my info.
Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.
