Caller ID "2139276531" ... MAR. 29 around 5:00pm Eastern time. This call ended after one ring. It may have been blocked by a free service I subscribe to which is available to most Internet-based VoIP phone service users(I have Time Warner which now lets you select this free service via your account sign-on - see MY PHONE and Call Privacy). Google "no more robocalls" to get more information.
They called earlier and didn't leave a message. I never answer any call if I don't recognize the number. The caller id number is always faked on these, so it's not "google" or any of the other s people come up with. Usually these scammers use a caller id from some other company so no class action suit will work. The best you can do is to not answer any call from a number or company you aren't expecting to hear from, block any number where they don't leave a message, and don't call back the number on the caller id or vm. And if you do happen to answer by accident do not listen to them, do not give out any portion of personal ids or ss#, and don't press a number that some recording states will remove you from a call list. These calls would stop if we all did this. The robo calls are dialing through random numbers trying to find a "live" person to pick up. It's unfortunate, but it's the way it is these days. Screen your calls..And and you're not sure, let them go to voicemail. Then you can do research to see if it's someone legitimate.
Called us on 3/11/16 while we were away. No msg and no name on CID, just this #. We've gotten over FOUR HUNDRED (400+!) of just THIS kind of scam: the Solar Panel or the :Switch Elecric Providers Scam - since February 2015. That does NOT even include the medical and 'interest rate' or 'fix your computer' or IRS/loved one in jail scams. I'm ready to sue, too.
