LM...Made a lot of threats, legal, jail time etc. Steve Martin, US treasury agent out of LA. Phone ID gives name as Davis Brown. Sounded really weird like reading from a script. A second call from the same area 213-921-4668, LM...suggested I contact their contact center. Scam! Hang up ASAP!
Just received a recorded voice message from a Middle Eastern or Indian sounding man saying his name is Steve Martin, and he is calling to inform me of an Enforcement Action that has been filed against 'me' (never used any name of whom he was calling). He warned this was a second attempt at contact and that failure to respond to this second attempt would result in an Award of Appearance in the Magistrate's Office for a Federal Criminal Offense. (does the Federal government even have a Magistrate's Office?) No mention if he was with the Federal government or agency, a law office, or of any official status.
I have been getting 3 and 4 calls a day from this number and the caller id's himself as steve martin a federal treasury agent and I will face prosecution and imprisonment if I do not cooperate and/or call him back.
Received a call from this number claiming to represent the US Treasury , lot of threatening comments.says name is steve martin and calling about an enforcement action etc. never mentioned my name or other pertinent info
I just received the same type of call referring to the treasury department and an action being filed with my local majistrate. The phone call came from an LA redux but it is too early in Southern CA to be making business calls which also leads me to the fraud conclusion. Thank you everyone for posting your experiences.
