Got a call from this number Indian sounding woman saying her name was Rachel claiming to be calling from the federal government. Said I applied for a federal government grant, I said no, never. She assured me "you remember " I said no , never scammed and hung up.
Just got a call from this number. Said he was from the computer repair dept. I asked which one - then he said his name was Johnny and he was from the computer repair dept - I start laughing at him and called him a moron and hung up. Johnny called back and said he was from the computer repair dept and that I was the moron. He kind of sounded Spanish / Mexican had a good laugh tried to keep on the line as long as I could - these guys are complete fools if they think anyone would fall for this kind of amateurish scam.
Computer repair place in Texas wanted to talk to my father John, saying something about his computer. I told him 1. His dead pass away, 2. He does'nt own a computer, and he was determined that I was John,I didn't give him my name. So I hung up. He called back in 30 seconds, this time my wife answered, and said the same thing. I don't know who this butt head is but if he calls back again I will track him down and start calling him in the wee hours in the morning.
This number called me from Texas. 3 months ago, we had a scammer call us almost every day, saying he was from tax collector service, and that we will go to prison if we don't pay him. I laughed at him, yelled at him, did everything possible to his feelings. They stopped calling. Now today, this number pops up. Guess what, the same guy. I recognized his voice the second he said he said hello. Now he's from a computer department in Texas working for Microsoft. I asked which computer, I have 5. He said, doesn't matter which, just sit down at one of them, and he will guide me through. (I laughed)
Yes...I have receiived calls from this number at least 3 times regarding issues with my PC not being able to do "Network Updates" as reported by their "servers". He wants you to go to your computer and "type a few commands"...no doubt to steal personal information. I told him he's a scammer and hung up. I wish these people would go away!
