I received a call from 214-123-4567 as well. I did not answer as it was suspicious to say the leadt. I google the number which says it is a process serving company for lawsuits. I called them and a Verizon message comes on saying to check the number again. I looked the address that was listed and ut could not be found on Mapquest.
This is the second time this number has called my cell phone - first was on 03/31/15. No message either time. Is it really likely that anybody would have a number reading 123-4567?
Although I am apprently the first to post 214-123-4567 on 800 notes, there are quite a few reports of calls from 409-123-4567. Both 214 and 409 are Texas area codes, one in the Dallas area and the other in Beaumont and southeast Texas. Seems likely that the same people are running a scam by spoofing multiple area codes plus the suspicious 123-4567 number.
Welp - whoever they are - they just tried it on my cell. I didn't answer and they didn't leave anything on voice mail. C'mon, people, a phone number that reads 123-4567 is so obviously a fraud!
