Received call today. Heavy Indian accent. Sounded like some type of scam. He gave agent ID and some type of law suit threat. I've paid my taxed every year of my working life so I asked for more detail. He wanted my address. Why would he not have my address? I don't know. He read of an "agent ID" very fast so I asked him to repeat it for my record. He just kept rambling it very quickly -- almost as if I asked him to say it as quickly as he could. Anyway, IRS agent ID LS14197 sounded like a scammer. I do not owe any back taxes.
I received this too. The call came in as "Unknown". Same description of the call as listed in previous posts. I called from a different phone and gave them a different phone # than the one I go the original call on and the person on the other end said that they hadn't called that number and then said if you receive a call from this number then call us and abruptly hung up! It is a scam. He didn't even ask my name. Just wanted the phone number that they called. IRS doesn't work this way. TOTAL SCAM!
