Called claimed she was calling from US Government and had $7000 grant to give me.
After short conversation I told her I would call the FBI to confirm she hung up.
# is a TX number but the caller sounded like she was from Asia
I got a call from them, the phone was ringing, then someone with a thick, hard to understand foreign accent answered and told me I had won a US Govt Grant. He asked if I wanted it put into my bank account, on a credit card (how this could even be possible, I am not sure), or through money gram. I said money gram of course. He proceeded to confirm information they had gotten about me (any internet search could have given it to them), but then asked for my date of birth. That's when I stopped playing along and started asking questions. He told me he was also going to ask for my driver's license number and social security number. This is a total scam. BEWARE!
My house phone keeps getting calls from this number. Asking for my girlfriend. ( by her full name) .The first few times I ( a male with a deep voice) say hello they hang up. So then i changed my voice to sound like an elderly lady. They say they are with the Goverment (me) my girlfriend's just won up to $5,000 or more. But as soon as I ask a question they hang up.
