They are NOT from the Heart Assoc. This is a scam. You collect money for them from your neighbors and they cash the checks. In fact ,you are actually culpable as an associate to a scam.
It's the American Heart Association. There's a "Dear Neighbor" campaign where they try to get you to volunteer to ask your neighbors for donations. 214 is Dallas, and that's more than 1300 miles from where I live, so it's no neighbor of mine.
Called us today - we didn't answer. Just looked this up and saw the above post about American Heart Association. It showed up on our caller ID as AHA Neighbor with this 214 Dallas number - yeah, they're not my neighbor either - we live in New York!
They've called several times a day from various #'s and states and NEVER leave a message. I understand they are a Non- profit and are not exempt from the National "Do Not Call" list but they shouldn't be allowed to continue calling several times a day either!
THESE PROFESSIONAL FUNDRAISERS DO MORE HARM TO THE PEOPLE THEY REPRESENT THAN GOOD. I'LL NEVER CONTRIBUTE OR ASSIST THESE PROGRAMS AS THEY DON'T HONOR MY RIGHT TO PRIVACY.
