They are NOT from the Heart Assoc. This is a scam. You collect money for them from your neighbors and they cash the checks. In fact ,you are actually culpable as an associate to a scam.
A few months ago, a neighbor collected for this charity and I gave a donation. A few weeks ago, I've been bombarded with numerous calls - aha neighbor uses several different numbers. I'm guessing they shared my name and number with other charities (cancer related, veterans, etc) as they started calling frequently too! I have an unlisted number - does no good. They never stop calling - it's harassment at this point.
They called this morning and left a message saying "they have some paperwork, listing my name and address, that is involved in an investigation that requires my immediate attention. I need a call back today so they can report that I have been cooperative and compliant in this investigation." I am not the person they are looking for. They want me to call them back at 844-299-1360. I received a call 2 days ago with the same message but it came from a New York number 716-712-5351. They appear to be the unethical debt collectors using scare tactics. If they were a legitimate company, they wouldn't have to spoof their number. I have called them back and asked that they update their records to show the person they are looking for can't be reached at this number. We'll see if that does any good.
My call waiting system shows the call I received December 31, 2014, is the 8th from that number. I do not answer unknown callers and no message is left. Annoying!!
