Smart Enough
James Brendan Carroll III Attorney at law.   DO NOT EVER USE THIS GUY.  He is your typical con-man attorney.  I have a case that the company went out of business and he asked me for money to sue them anyway.  After he sued them the owners filed bankruptcy he asked me for more money to protest their bankruptcy.  Now he is asking for more money.  Its like he won't stop.  Just keeps asking for more and more money.  I called the phone numbers for the debtor and all of them are disconnected and per their competitors the company has been gone for over a year and the owners are in different industries now with no financial means to pay.  This guy is a big joke.  If you have money to throw out the window then pay him and watch him run in circles on out of business debtors chasing his tail and asking you for more money.  If not then RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN.  DO NOT USE HIM EVER!!!  Oh I went to his make shift office and it is an executive suite that is shared with several people.  He is never there.  What a joke.  I met him at the courtroom and his clothes were wrinkled, he doesn't wear a belt, or comb his hair.  He looks like he just got out of bed.  Great representation of my company, NOT.

James Carroll
I had not seen this message until today. I'm not familiar with who this client might be. I would like to get more details.

I certainly don't give up when a case goes in a different direction. I usually will explain a client's options when the case is ongoing. There are things that can be done to object to a defendant's bankruptcy. I know it can be frustrating to a client when the case does not go smoothly. In most cases we would advise the client about the odds on winning in each scenario as presented.

I'm going to need payment from the client to continue to do work for them. There are court costs to pay and attorneys cost money. If I knew who this person was I could probably explain more completely.

But, this seems to be not a client at all. He mentions I wasn't wearing a belt, clothes wrinkled, hair not combed. Seems like a fashion critic not a legal analyst. I'm guessing it's someone I collected money from that was unhappy about having to pay their bill with the extras that come with a judgment against them. But I don't know who this could be and would love more information about them and the case.

On the plus side I'm a 1982 Georgetown Law Center graduate. I have been doing this work in Dallas since 1983.
I was just given a Martindale Hubbell Preeminent rating which is given for the highest possible legal ability and ethical standards as determined by the bar and judiciary. So that means I'm probably not a con artist attorney.
If the reviewer would please provide more information about themselves I can give a more complete response.

interesting
Since there are only 3 people with that name registered in Texas with the BAR and none of them have listed Georgetown as their law school.  So perhaps you should give us some more information so that we could verify your post, other wise it will be removed because you lied.

Funny, a quick look on the Texas Bar site turns up a listing for a Mr. James Brendan Carroll III, Bar # 03886700, licensed since 05/13/1983, practicing in Dallas, Texas.
https://www.texasbar.com/AM/Template.cfm?Sect ... ontactID=162717
It shows that he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) from Georgetown University in May 1982.
It also shows no history of disciplinary actions against him.

A look at the Martindale-Hubbell website shows a James Brendan Carroll, III as having received their AV® Preeminent™ peer review rating with a score of 5.0 out of 5.
http://www.martindale.com/Mr-James-Brendan-Carroll-III/1639330-lawyer.htm

Both websites show an address for his practice at 501 Elm St., Ste. 385, Dallas, Texas.

While it could be that the post by "James Carroll" above was made by some poser pulling information off of the Internet (if I could find it, anybody can), I do not see why someone other than the lawyer being maligned would do so.  I am of the opinion that "James Carroll" is most likely the lawyer in question.

As to the original poster, seeing as their post is nearly three years old, I doubt that we will hear from them again.  Their post does read like a vendetta post.  It is certainly not the post of someone who came to this site seeking the identity behind an unknown caller; they knew fully who this number belonged to before they made their post.

Just because there are no discipline reports on him doesn't mean he's not crooked-just means he hasn't been caught. The OP does seem vendetta-ish, I'll agree with you there
